Fantastic day 2!! The kids were amazing today! We toured our room and found out where things are kept! We picked out a chapter book to read during SSR. Kids are welcome to bring a book they are reading at home as well.
We started sharing our 2 truths and a lie. Such a fun way to learn about our classmates. We will finish sharing tomorrow.
Today we also brainstormed "what makes an awesome 4th grader." The list is amazing! Check it out below. Tomorrow we will be adding more to it and then making it into a poster for one of our walls. Check out their work below.
Please send in the following if you have not yet:
1. emergency card
2. parent homework
3. family picture
Thank you so much for sending me such great kiddos! They are a hoot!
I cannot take credit for this poem, but I had to share! Looking forward to the start of the school year!
Twas The Night Before School Started Poem‘Twas the night before school started
When all through the town
The parents were cheering
It was a riotous sound.
By eight the kids were washed
And tucked into bed
When memories of homework
Filled them with dread
New pencils, new folders
New notebooks too
New teachers, new friends
Their anxiety grew
The parents just giggled when they
Learned of this fright
And shouted upstairs
GO TO BED – It’s a school night!

Thank you so much to those that were able to make Open House last night! It was fantastic meeting you and your student last night. If you couldn't make it, no worries! Please stop by though and introduce yourself!
I am looking foward to an amazing school year! Be sure to save the date for curriculum night on Thursday, Sept. 15 @6:30. We will meet in our classroom. I'll be sharing lots of information about the expectations for the school year, so please plan on attending.
Also - we will be getting chrome books in a few weeks and each student will be needing a set of head phones. These will be left in the classroom to use throughout the year. I have heard that 5 Below and Big Lots are two places that you can get an inexpensive pair. So if you are out and about think about picking up a pair.
Here is the welcome note I had out for families.
See you Tuesday!
